Pune student knifed by man in love with her

Raj Thackeray News: A student in Pune was on her way to college this morning with a friend when she was attacked so badly with a knife that she died immediately.
 
Her friend has been hospitalized. So has the man who assaulted them.

The student, 20-year-old Jyotsna Bagul, had left her hostel with her friend. They were walking to their college.
 
ACP's son and daughter-in-law commit suicide in Mumbai

Raj Thackeray News: The son and daughter-in-law of an assistant police commissioner (ACP) allegedly committed suicide at their residence in suburban Malad here, police said on Friday.

"The young couple-- Abhijit (27) and wife Ashwini (21)-- were found dead at their residence on Friday morning. Abhijit, son of ACP Madhusudan Kurne, used his father's service revolver to kill self," additional police commissioner, Ramrao Pawar said.
 
Sachin Tendulkar becomes IAF's honorary Group Captain

Raj Thackeray News: Senior Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar was today conferred with the Indian Air Force's honorary rank of Group Captain to honour his cricketing achievements and contribution to the nation.

Tendulkar is the first sportsperson to be conferred a rank by IAF and the first personality with no aviation background to receive the honour.

In 2008, India's World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev had received the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel of the Territorial Army.

Raj Thackeray News:The Marathi vs. non-Marathi tussle surrounding the new Mumbai unit president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been settled with the election of Raj Purohit, a north Indian.
 
Purohit, originally from Rajasthan, defeated Ashish Shellar by a margin of 15 votes - the final tally was 35:20.

His victory also signals the growing strength of senior leader Gopinath Munde in the party affairs in the state.

"By making baseless allegations about opposition leaders' so-called nexus with builders, Pawar has insulted the House and its members.
 
Mumbai's eastern suburbs get advanced cancer hospital

Raj Thackeray News: The first specialised cancer care institute in Mumbai’s eastern suburbs was inaugurated today by actress Lisa Ray and industrialist brothers Malvinder Singh and Shivinder Singh, chairman and managing director, respectively, of the Fortis Healthcare Group.

The Fortis Cancer Institute, set up at Fortis Hospitals in Mulund, is equipped with the “most sophisticated radiation therapy equipment in India” and aims to provide “collective clarity about cancer to patients, and optimum care and treatment”.
 
Sena leaders meet mayor on open space policy

With prizes as high as Rs31 lakh at some places, the youngsters, including some all-women troupes, wounded their way to the 'handis' in Mumbai and adjoining Thane, vying for the prizes.

Colaba, this year, during the months of June, July and August received a whopping 2,896 mm of rainfall.

Raj Thackeray News: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is very upset with the electronic media for distorting his comments on the proposed Metro rail segment that will pass by his home Prateeksha in Mumbai. He has hit back at the media on Twitter for presenting his comments in bad light.

Buzz up!Amitabh has received lots of flak from political parties like Shiv Sena, Congress and MNS for his comment 'So bye bye privacy and hello fellow traveller'.
